UCANZ Forum 2019

17th - 20th October

In a place. For a purpose. Cooperative.

Alexandra, Central Otago

Alexandra, Clyde, Lauder Union Parish is honoured to be hosting Forum 2019. We invite you to stay in our place and explore what our region has to offer. Accommodation options and ways to extend and make the most of you stay in our region are listed below.

This year we gather in Alexandra, in Central Otago District, a land of extremes. Hot and dry in summer, misty and frosty in winter. Alexandra has the lowest average annual rainfall in New Zealand and is the least windy! According to the Central Otago website, this region stands for: vision, being at the cutting edge, setting directions and accepting challenges, inclusive action, harmonious positive communities, freedom of ideas and different thinking. Can we rise to the challenge of being the Church in the world

Central Otago - A world of Difference

Breathtakingly different. Words and images do not do justice to the innate beauty of Central Otago. You have to sense this place, to physically touch, smell, taste, see and hear its sounds. The sheer beauty, silence and scale of the treeless and vast undulating landscapes engenders a kind of special contemplation - let it stir your soul. Forum 2019 draws on the beauty of the landscape, draws on the history of our traditions and draws on the story of God, loving making a difference in the world. Making a world of difference.

With the development of the Clyde dam coming to a close the Railway line between Dunedin and Cromwell was no longer needed. The DOC and the community developed the line into a popular and easy rail trail. E bikes are now allowed on the trail so all can partake.
