New Carpet

With the upgrade for earthquake strengthening completed, Parish Council turned focus to the internal furnishings. There’s been some tidying up of the paint inside the church and most recently in the vestry. The big thing, however, has been the flooring. After a number of decades the old carpet had done its time. Parish Council decided it was time to replace it and carpet the whole of the church floor.

The replacement is a Feltex brand wool carpet. Good and durable, it proved to be cost effective and fitted well with the parish’s commitment to be an Eco Church. The neutral colour go well with the new chairs, purchased last December, and is dark enough to be serviceable with lots of foot traffic. Full floor cover makes it a genuinely multi-purpose building, arranging chairs to suit and utilising open floor space for activities.

Fit for purpose as a community space with a spiritual heart, and up to the latest standard for earthquake and fire safety, St Enoch’s is here to stay, a building for the Alexandra community with a faithful church keeping the home fires/ahi kā burning bright.
